On the evening of July 3, 2017 local time, President Xi Jinping, who just arrived in Moscow, met with President Vladimir Putin of Russia at the Kremlin. The two heads of state exchanged in-depth views on major issues of common concern, recalled China-Russia friendship cheerfully, and jointly sought the future development of bilateral relations.

Xi Jinping expressed that I am very happy to pay a state visit to Russia once again, and exchange views with President Vladimir Putin on issues of common concern. As comprehensive strategic partners of coordination, it is of great importance for China and Russia to intensify communication and coordination when dealing with major issues. Both sides should enhance cooperation, firmly support each other in following a development path suitable to respective national conditions, and firmly support each other's policies and measures on safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests. Both sides should strengthen policy communication and action coordination on major international and regional issues, so as to jointly eliminate risks and challenges and promote world peace, stability and prosperity.

Vladimir Putin warmly welcomed Xi Jinping's visit to Russia, and expressed that the Russian side highly values Russia-China relations. He agreed that both countries should enhance mutual support, and intensify coordination on major international and regional issues. Enhancing diplomatic activities between the two heads of state is of great importance to guide and promote the development of bilateral relations. It is believed that President Xi Jinping's visit this time will surely inject new vitality and impetus into Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination.

The two heads of state exchanged views on the Korean Peninsula situation, the Syrian issue and other issues. Both sides agreed that China and Russia should maintain strategic coordination, facilitate peace talks, properly handle the Korean Peninsula situation, and push all parties to properly solve the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue through dialogue and negotiation. The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) issue influences regional strategic balance, and both sides share consistent stance on the opposition to the deployment of the THAAD anti-missile system in the Republic of Korea.
