On July 4 local time, President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin of Russia met with the representatives of China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development (CRFCPD), media and business communities in Moscow.

Xi Jinping stressed that China and Russia, based on the spirit of good-neighborliness and cooperation, have set a model of relationship for major and neighboring countries over the years. Long-lasting friendship for generations and win-win cooperation between China and Russia are not only historical choice made by the two peoples but also conform to the practical needs for building a ever-lasting, peaceful, common prosperous, open and inclusive world. No matter how the external environment changes, China's firm belief and confidence of carrying forward China-Russia relations will never change.

Xi Jinping pointed out that since its establishment 20 years ago, the CRFCPD, as a major channel for China-Russia non-governmental exchanges, has made great contribution to the healthy, stable and smooth progress of China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination. The Russia-China Friendship Association (RCFA) has carried forward the spirit of friendliness towards China and played an indispensable role in consolidating the social and public opinion foundation for China-Russia friendship since its establishment 60 years ago. China-Russia Media Exchange Year will come to a close this year. With increasingly deepened media dialogue and broadened cooperation between the two countries, the two peoples have enjoyed deeper mutual understanding and friendship. With the concerted efforts from the two entrepreneurs, China-Russia practical cooperation has been deepened and mutual benefit, mutual sharing and win-win results have become the key tone for bilateral cooperation.

Xi Jinping stressed that for all attendees, some are staunch forces for spreading China-Russia traditional friendship and some are new forces for bilateral practical cooperation. For many years, all of you have actively devoted yourselves to the cause of China-Russia ever-lasting friendship and promoting practical cooperation as the firm supporters and participants of China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination. We hope that you will continue to be the promoters and contribute more wisdom and strength to the development of China-Russia relations. We also hope that you will continue to be the spreaders of the friendship between Chinese and Russian people, promote the mutual understanding in different sectors of the society between the two countries, constantly open up new aspects for bilateral non-governmental diplomacy, and be the pioneers of China-Russia practical cooperation, give full play to the advantages of each other so as to deepen China-Russia practical cooperation.

Xi Jinping stressed that China and Russia are friendly neighbors linked by rivers and mountains. We should join together to carry forward the spirit of the time, and make contributions to pushing forward the development of China-Russia relations, consolidate and develop friendly relations between the two countries, in a bid to jointly fulfill the dreams of a happy life for people of both countries.

Vladimir Putin said that friendly non-government exchanges play an important role in strengthening Russia-China relations and promoting bilateral cooperation. He would like to thank the CRFCPD, the RCFA and other friendly groups, as well as business and media circles of both sides for their positive contributions. During President Xi Jinping's visit to Russia, the two sides reached a number of cooperation plans. The implementation of these plans depends not only on the efforts of the two governments, but also on the continued support of all social sectors of the two countries.
