2017-11-10 12:50

On November 10, 2017 local time, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President Xi Jinping arrived in Hanoi of Vietnam to attend the 25th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and pay a state visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

At around 1:00 p.m. local time, Xi Jinping arrived at Da Nang International Airport by special plane. When Xi Jinping walked out of the cabin door, he was warmly greeted by ministers of Vietnamese government and other senior officials. Vietnamese youth presented flowers to Xi Jinping. The guard of honor lined up on both sides of the red carpet.

In his written speech delivered at the airport, Xi Jinping, on behalf of the CPC, the Chinese government and Chinese people, extended sincere greetings and best wishes to brotherly Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the Vietnamese government and Vietnamese people. Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Vietnam are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers and having the same political system, similar development paths and closely-related future and destiny. Since the establishment of China-Vietnam diplomatic relations 67 years ago, the connotation of bilateral relations has been constantly enriched, and the level of bilateral cooperation has been constantly elevated. Entering the new historical period, bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has been continuously deepened, which brings tangible benefits to the two peoples and makes important contributions to regional peace, stability and prosperity. Consensus reached by leaders of both parties and both countries has been gradually implemented, and China-Vietnam strategic cooperation is marching towards new breadth and depth. The Chinese side highly values its relations with Vietnam. I am looking forward to extensively contacting with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang and other leading comrades of the CPV and the country as well as all walks of life in Vietnam to exchange in-depth views on relations between both parties and both countries as well as on international and regional issues of common concern, consolidate traditional friendship, and make plan for future development, so as to elevate China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to new stages.

Ding Xuexiang, Liu He, Yang Jiechi and other delegation members arrived by the same plane.

Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor who arrived earlier for the 25th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting greeted Xi Jinping at the airport. Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong also greeted him at the airport.

After concluding his attendance at the 25th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and his state visit to Vietnam, Xi Jinping will also pay a state visit to Laos.
