On the morning of November 13, 2017 local time, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President Xi Jinping met with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong again at the headquarters of the CPV Central Committee in Hanoi. Both sides, on the basis of the comradely and brotherly spirit, continuously exchanged in-depth views on relations between the two parties and the two countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out that my visit to Vietnam this time is very smooth, making me feel the sincere friendship from people of Vietnam once again. The relationship between the two parties and the two countries is unbreakable and as solid as rocks. At present, a series of important consensus reached by leaders of both parties and both countries is being continuously transformed into practical cooperation results. Yesterday, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and I conducted friendly and in-depth communication, and we agreed to continue to deepen cooperation between the two countries on the basis of existing consensus, in a bid to constantly promote the development of China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Xi Jinping stressed that as the international and regional situations in the new period are undergoing profound changes, the special and important significance of China-Vietnam relationship is becoming more prominent. To well guide the development of bilateral relations, the two sides should keep the faith, hold the general direction of China-Vietnam relationship, enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges, consolidate the public opinion foundation of bilateral relations, and firmly safeguard friendly cooperation between the two countries, so as to ensure that relations between the two parties and two countries will always advance on the right track.

Xi Jinping also briefed Nguyen Phu Trong on China's relevant experience on party governance and state administration.

Nguyen Phu Trong expressed that Vietnam and China enjoy a long-standing and well-established friendship, and practical cooperation in various fields has been continuously deepened. It is of great significance that Vietnam becomes General Secretary Xi Jinping's first overseas destination after the 19th CPC National Congress. The Vietnamese people sincerely look forward to and warmly welcome General Secretary and President Xi Jinping's visit. Yesterday, we had warm and friendly as well as comprehensive and in-depth talks, fully showing the profound friendship with comradely and brotherly significance. Vietnam is willing to, together with China, enhance exchanges of experience in party governance and state administration, inherit and carry forward bilateral traditional friendship to strive to continuously lift relations between the two parties and the two countries to reach a new stage.

After the meeting, Xi Jinping and Nguyen Phu Trong went to the former residence of Ho Chi Minh to continue communication.

In the ancient, quiet and green former residence of Ho Chi Minh, Xi Jinping and Nguyen Phu Trong went for a stroll along the tree-lined old path. They deeply reviewed the friendly exchanges of the leaders of older generations from the two countries including Chairman Mao Zedong and President Ho Chi Minh, and happily reviewed the special unity and friendship between the two peoples.

On the same day, Xi Jinping paid the respect and laid a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
