Xi Jinping delivered a written speech at the airport, and extended sincere greetings and best wishes to the brotherly LPRP, the Lao government and Lao people on behalf of the CPC, the Chinese government and Chinese people. Xi Jinping stressed that both as socialist countries led by the Communist Party, China and Laos are truly good neighbors, good friends, good comrades and good partners. Since the two countries established diplomatic relations 56 years ago, the traditional good-neighborly and friendly relations between both sides have stood the test of international vicissitudes and have become even stronger. The in-depth development of bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has not only brought tangible benefits to the two countries and peoples, but also actively contributed to the peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world. During the visit, I will conduct wide contacts with General Secretary Bounnhang Vorachit, President of Laos and other leading comrades from the LPRP as well as personages from all walks of Laos, exchanging in-depth views on relations between the two parties and the two countries as well as on issues of common concern. It is believed that under joint efforts of both sides, this visit will certainly elevate China-Laos comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to new highs and bring greater well-beings to the two peoples.
