On November 14, 2017 local time, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President Xi Jinping met at the hotel where he stayed in Vientiane again with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President Bounnhang Vorachit of Laos.

Xi Jinping thanked Laos for warm and friendly reception, and thanked Bounnhang Vorachit for making a special trip to bid farewell as the visit approaches to the end. Xi Jinping stressed that although the visit was short, it yielded fruitful results. The leading comrades of the LPRP and the Lao government and I conducted in-depth communication, and I have made close contact with friendly personages from all walks of life. Both sides have reached important consensus on consolidating and developing China-Laos relations and boosting comprehensive strategic cooperation. During the visit, General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachit and I agreed to jointly build a China-Laos community of shared future with strategic significance, planned cooperation contents including enhancing strategic docking and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results, and charted the course of carrying forward traditional friendship and benefiting the livelihood for the grassroots. The visit has achieved a complete success, and I am full of confidence in development prospects of China-Laos relations. Both sides should comprehensively well implement the visit's results, well grasp strategic guidance, do well in strategic docking and accomplish works concerning the livelihood, in a bid to promote a better development of China-Laos comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era.

Bounnhang Vorachit expressed that General Secretary and President Xi Jinping's historic visit to Laos achieved a complete success, which elevates bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with long-term stability to a new level, and fully demonstrates bilateral traditional friendship. The LPRP and the whole country felt inspired and were full of expectations for the future development of bilateral relations. Laos is willing to make joint efforts with China to earnestly well implement the fruitful results of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping's visit, and promote bilateral cooperation in various fields for greater development on the basis of the "four-good spirit". The Lao side sincerely wishes the causes of the CPC and Chinese people a greater success.

After the meeting, Xi Jinping and Bounnhang Vorachit jointly witnessed the signing of the Agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on Enhancing Cooperation under New Situation.

After the signing ceremony, Xi Jinping kindly bade farewell to Bounnhang Vorachit. The Lao youths presented flowers to Xi Jinping.
