On the morning of 11 September 2013, Wu Peng, head of the Press Center of the Chinese delegation to the SCO Bishkek Summit and Vice Director General of the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, gave an exclusive interview to the Xinhua News Agency about the Press Center.

Wu Peng said that the Chinese delegation set up the Press Center at the AK KEME Hotel, where the Main Press Center of the Summit was located, to facilitate journalists covering the Summit. The Press Center of the Chinese delegation would invite leading officials from relevant Chinese government agencies to brief and give interviews to the press on President Xi Jinping's visit to four countries in Central Asia and his activities during the Summit and provide information services to journalists. The Press Center of the Chinese delegation had officially opened on 11 September and journalists are welcome to carry out their work and cover events there.
