2020/03/07

On 6 March, Li Keqiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Premier of the State Council, and head of the Central Leading Group on Responding to the Novel Coronavirus Disease Outbreak, visited Beijing Capital International Airport and the airport distribution center of SF Express.

Li noted the rapid spread of the virus in many parts of the world in recent days. He pointed out that tackling the outbreak is a common challenge facing the global community. He urged closer cooperation with international organizations and relevant countries and regions against the epidemic by taking coordinated measures in air transport to prevent the import and export of infections and ensure orderly and safe flow of passengers. Enhancing international cooperation is the responsible approach to take, both for all passengers and for people across the world.

As the logistics chain is closely linked with the industrial and value chains, Li emphasized its vital importance for the orderly resumption of work, and stressed the need for unimpeded transportation in both trunk lines and regional networks to keep the industrial chain smooth and running and ensure steady supply of daily necessities for the public.

International air freight services should be increased and the development of an international logistics and delivery services system accelerated to provide efficient, convenient and stable logistics support for economic development and meeting people's daily needs.
