Beijing Leading Group on COVID-19 Control Convenes 46th Meeting and 13th Meeting of the Inter-agency Mechanism for Strict Entry Management

2020/03/22

On the afternoon of 21 March, the Beijing Leading Group on Epidemic Control of COVID-19 held its 46th meeting and the 13th meeting of the inter-agency mechanism for strict entry management to discuss the city's ongoing epidemic response.

The meeting stressed the need to coordinate more closely with airports accommodating international arrivals diverted from Beijing and make sound arrangements for those flying back to Beijing for transit or entry. Beijing will strengthen health screening and quarantine upon passengers' entry. Passengers must undergo nucleic acid testing if they show symptoms, have or are suspected to have contact history, or are otherwise deemed necessary.

Procedures for entry into Beijing will be improved to shorten the waiting time for passengers. The elderly, expectant mothers, children and people with disabilities will be attended to on a priority basis. The 14-day medical observation at designated places will be strictly enforced for international arrivals. Epidemic control among the staff of foreign missions in China will be properly arranged.
