Between 00:00 and 24:00, 22 March, the following were newly reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 39 confirmed cases;

b) 9 fatal cases (all in Hubei);

c) 47 suspected cases;

d) 459 cured and discharged cases;

e) 661 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) 96 fewer severe cases.

As of 24:00, 22 March, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 5,120 confirmed cases (including 1,749 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 72,703 cured and discharged cases;

c) 3, 270 fatal cases;

d) 81, 093 confirmed cases;

e) 136 suspected cases pending test results; and

f) 688,993 close contacts traced (including 10,701 still under medical observation).

Between 00:00 and 24:00, 22 March, the following were newly reported by Hubei:

a) 0 confirmed case (Wuhan included);

b) 447 cured and discharged cases (including 434 in Wuhan);

c) 9 fatal cases (all in Wuhan); and

d) 0 suspected case (Wuhan included).

As of 24:00, 21 March, Hubei had reported:

a) 4,768 confirmed cases (including 4,700 in Wuhan) still under treatment;

b) 1,714 severe cases (including 1,699 in Wuhan) still under treatment;

c) 59,879 cured and discharged cases (including 42,788 in Wuhan);

d) 3,153 fatal cases (including 2,517 in Wuhan);

e) 67,800 confirmed cases (including 50,005 in Wuhan); and

f) 0 suspected case pending test results (Wuhan included).

Between 00:00 and 24:00, 22 March, 39 imported cases (confirmed) were newly reported (10 in Beijing, 10 in Shanghai, 6 in Fujian, 6 in Guangdong, 2 in Shandong, 2 in Gansu, 1 in Zhejiang, Henan, and Chongqing respectively). As of 24:00, 22 March, 353 imported cases (confirmed) had been reported.

As of 24:00, 22 March, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 507 confirmed cases:

a) 317 (including 100 discharged cases and 4 fatal cases) in the Hong Kong SAR;

b) 21 (including 10 discharged cases) in the Macao SAR; and

c) 169 (including 28 discharged cases and 2 fatal cases) in the Taiwan region.
