NHC Update on COVID-19 Cases in China

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 27 July, the following were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 68 confirmed cases (4 imported, including 2 in Shanghai, 1 in Beijing and 1 in Yunnan; 64 local, including 57 in Xinjiang, 6 in Liaoning and 1 in Beijing);

b) no fatal cases;

c) no suspected cases;

d) 16 cured and discharged cases;

e) 184 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) 1 fewer severe case than the previous day.

2. As of 24:00, 27 July, among all the imported cases, 82 confirmed cases (including 2 severe cases) were still under treatment and 1 suspected case awaiting test results. In total, 2053 imported cases had been confirmed, 1,971 cases cured and discharged, and no fatal cases reported.

3. As of 24:00, 27 July, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 391 confirmed cases (including 20 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 78,934 cured and discharged cases;

c) 4,634 fatal cases;

d) 83,959 confirmed cases;

e) 1 suspected case pending test results; and

f) 782,284 close contacts traced (including 14,590 still under medical observation).

4. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 27 July, the following asymptomatic cases were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 34 new cases (6 imported);

b) 24 cases developed into confirmed cases (none imported);

c) 6 cases released from medical observation (all imported); and

d) 306 cases still under medical observation (88 imported).

5. As of 24:00, 27 July, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 3,286 confirmed cases:

a) 2,778 in the Hong Kong SAR (including 1,486 discharged cases and 22 fatal cases);

b) 46 in the Macao SAR (all discharged from hospital); and

c) 462 in the Taiwan region (including 440 discharged cases and 7 fatal cases).
