Premier Li Keqiang Chairs State Council Executive Meeting

2020/07/29

On 29 July, Premier Li Keqiang chaired a State Council executive meeting. The meeting underscored the importance of enhanced testing capacity to both COVID-19 containment and economic and social development.

It called for the mobilization of all available resources to accelerate the development and deployment of easy-to-operate testing devices with quick testing speed and high detection sensitivity. The training of testing personnel should be strengthened, and mobile testing units added and allocated in a well-planned manner. On the condition of forestalling bio-safety risks, efforts should be made to provide nucleic acid testing capacity for all Grade-3 comprehensive hospitals and hospitals for infectious diseases across the country, CDCs at all levels, and at least one county-level hospital in each county before the autumn-winter season. Relevant authorities should provide timely and strong support for such efforts in funding and other forms.
