On 17th August 2020, Ambassador Li Minggang met with Dr. Buthaina Al-Mudhaf, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health.

Li said that since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, China and Kuwait has been supporting each other and joining hands to fight against the epidemic through close cooperation, which further deepens the connotation of China-Kuwait strategic partnership, and promotes the well-being of the peoples of both countries. China stands ready to work with Kuwait to continuously bolster anti-epidemic cooperation, and provide necessary support and facilitation in the fields of research and development of vaccine, procurement of medical supplies and infrastructure support.

For her part, Dr. Buthainaexpressed Kuwait's great appreciation to China for extending its immediate support to Kuwait after the outbreak of COVID-19 in the latter, unreservedly sharing experience on COVID-19 response, and actively facilitating Kuwait in procuring medical supplies from China. Kuwait is keen on maintaining close communication and cooperation with China in order to prevail over the epidemic at an early date.
