Ambassador to Iran Pang Sen Presents Credentials to President Hassan Rouhani of Iran

On June 23, 2014, H.E. Pang Sen, newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador to Iran, presented his credentials to President Hassan Rouhani of Iran.

Ambassador Pang conveyed kind greetings of President Xi Jinping to President Rouhani, and expressed that the Chinese side attaches great importance to developing China-Iran friendly cooperative relations and stands ready to deepen practical cooperation in various fields with the Iranian side, so as to benefit the two countries and two peoples as well as to jointly safeguard peace and development in the region and the world. Ambassador Pang said that he will fulfill his duties during his tenure to enhance the traditional friendship between the two peoples and to promote friendly cooperation between the two countries.

Rouhani warmly welcomed Ambassador Pang on assuming his new office in Iran, and asked Ambassador Pang to convey his best wishes to President Xi Jinping. He expressed that Iran and China are both ancient civilizations with a long history and enjoy sound development of bilateral relations in such fields as politics, economy and culture. He hoped that both sides will make joint efforts to push the level of Iran-China friendly relations to a new high. Rouhani said that the Iranian side will give all-out support for Ambassador Pang’s work, and that he wishes Ambassador Pang smooth work and happy life in Iran.

Ambassador Pang arrived in Iran on June 10, 2014, and presented the copy of his credentials to Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif of Iran on June 21.
