On September 12, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li met with visiting President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Portuguese member of Parliament Duarte Pacheco.

Deng Li said that as global challenges are mounting, the international community should strengthen communication and coordination for joint response. Deng Li expressed his hope that the IPU will act on true multilateralism, encourage all parties to increase understanding and mutual trust, and work together to respond to global challenges.
