On September 20, 2023 local time, Vice President Han Zheng had a group meeting with U.S. friendly organizations, heads of think tanks and people from all walks of life on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Han Zheng said that China's current economic development has picked up and shifted from high-speed growth to high-quality development, focusing on both economic aggregate growth and improving quality and efficiency. China will steadfastly promote high-standard opening up, and follow a path of win-win cooperation with other countries, so as to provide an unceasing driving force for global economic recovery and growth, as well as opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation to investors from all countries.

Han Zheng said that China and the United States, as the world's largest developing and developed countries, should strengthen communication, properly handle differences, follow the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation proposed by President Xi Jinping, and follow through on the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state in Bali. Han Zheng expressed his hope that the participants will play an active role in promoting China-U.S. cooperation in areas such as economy and trade, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, as well as the sound and stable development of China-U.S. relations.

Participants from the U.S. side expressed their appreciation for China's path of green, low-carbon, and sustainable development. They also expressed their hope that the United States and China will maintain contacts and personnel exchanges at all levels to promote the stable development of U.S.-China relations, as well as their readiness to continue to make efforts to this end.
