From July 11 to 15, 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized diplomatic envoys to China to visit Guizhou. Ambassadors of Spain, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bahamas, Angola, Sudan, and Solomon Islands to China, and senior diplomats from the embassies of Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and Zimbabwe in China attended the tour, accompanied by Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun.

Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Guizhou Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guizhou Province Shen Yiqin met with the delegation, and warmly welcomed the envoys to attend the ECO Forum Global Guiyang 2021 and visit Guizhou. Secretary Shen said that in recent years, Guizhou has made great strides in comprehensive economic strength, infrastructure construction, ecological conservation, big data development and people's livelihood, and ranked No. 1 in the country by the number of people shrugging off poverty and of people relocated. Currently, Guizhou is implementing in depth the important guidelines of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the province's work, adopting a holistic approach guided by high-quality development, taking the green development path that gives priority to ecology, actively expanding the opening-up to the outside world, and accelerating the going-global drive under the Belt and Road Initiative. Guizhou is also a land of revolutionary tradition, and has played a critical role in the development and growth of China's revolutionary forces and the victory of the Red Army. She hopes the envoys will deepen their understanding of Guizhou, help Guizhou expand its opening-up, strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, and turn high-quality development into reality at a faster speed.

Special Envoy Zhai Jun said, in the past 100 years, the CPC has traveled an extraordinary and splendid journey, and has remained true to its original aspiration and founding mission. Guizhou Province holds onto the two main tasks of ecology and development. The achievements it has scored epitomize the giant leap of China since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, and show to the world a glorious chapter that the CPC has made arduous and unremitting efforts. As a heroic sacred land of the Chinese revolution, the main battlefield of poverty alleviation, the national ecological civilization pilot zone and an emerging pacesetter of the digital economy, Guizhou is an important province where the past greets the future. He hopes the envoys will further deepen their comprehensive understanding of China through this visit and promote exchanges and cooperation between China and the rest of the world.

During their stay in Guizhou, the envoys looked back on the important turning point in the history of the CPC at the site of Zunyi Conference and the site of Gouba Conference; attended the ECO Forum Global Guiyang 2021 to understand the pursuit of Guizhou for ecological civilization, and experienced the practical results of China's ecological environment governance at the China Tea Expo; learned about the rapid development of China's big data industry at Guizhou Big Data Exhibition Center; looked down at the magnificence of the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST, also known as China's Tianyan), the largest ever made by the humans; experienced the customs of ethnic groups and the results of Guizhou's poverty alleviation and rural governance in Haohuahong Village in Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture and Huamao Village in Bozhou District of Zunyi City, and knew how happy the locals were.

The envoys offered warm congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, and spoke highly of the CPC's vision and hard endeavors in the past 100 years. The envoys said, they gained insights into the extraordinary course of the CPC in the past 100 years from the tour, and hailed the firm leadership role played by the CPC in the success of China's revolution and development; expressed appreciation for what China has achieved in poverty alleviation and the hope of drawing on China's precious experience and stepping up international cooperation; warmly gave China's technological innovation achievements thumbs-up, and fully recognized China's ecological thinking and progress. The envoys said, they expect to strengthen exchanges and engage in more cooperation with Guizhou in such fields as economic and ecological development, rural vitalization, and technological innovation.
