A sight of Peaceful China: Face to Face with the Ministry of Public Security

Executive Vice Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong held discussions with diplomatic envoys, and introduced the achievements, experience and directions in building a "Peaceful China". Vice Minister Wang Xiaohong said, since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, China has created the "two miracles" of fast economic growth and long-term social stability. "Peaceful China" has become a shining icon of China. Chinese public security authorities have always followed the leadership of the CPC, upheld the people-centered approach, and kept to the socialist path of promoting peace and security with Chinese characteristics. They will make practical efforts to safeguard China's political security, social harmony, and people's peace and tranquility, helping people feel more satisfied, happier, and more secure. As China has entered a new development stage, the higher-level "Peaceful China" is the solemn promise made by Chinese public security authorities to Chinese people, and a vital contribution to global security and stability. Chinese public security authorities are willing to work with law enforcement departments of all countries to deepen mutual trust in the spirit of cooperation, innovation, rule of law, and win-win results, striving to build a community of universal security for all, and make greater contribution to world peace, stability and prosperity.

At the China Peacekeeping Police Training Center, diplomatic envoys watched the anti-riot drills of the standby peacekeeping police force of the Ministry of Public Security, which won warm applause from the diplomatic envoys. Several ambassadors to China exchanged views with peacekeeping police personnel, and praised that they are professional and well-sophisticated. These righteous, professional, civilized and confident police are in the front line of the UN peacekeeping operations, and serve as major forces for safeguarding world peace.

At the law enforcement and case-handling management centers of Chaoyang Sub-bureau and Haidian Sub-bureau of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, diplomatic envoys understood how Chinese public security authorities advance law-based and civilized law enforcement. While visiting all departments of the law enforcement and case-handling management centers, diplomatic envoys inquired about the case-handling procedures, exchanged views with prosecutors, duty lawyers, and social workers of juvenile justice, and understood the "one-stop" efficient case-handling procedures. Diplomatic envoys expressed, the centers follow an advanced philosophy, and police handle cases in a fast, efficient, just, transparent, and standardized manner, achieving the goals of pursuing efficiency, standardizing law enforcement, and guaranteeing legitimate rights and interests of criminal suspects. The centers are the embodiment of the efficiency and professionalism of Chinese public security authorities. After visiting the centers, diplomatic envoys have a more direct and profound understanding of the "Peaceful China" initiative.

Diplomatic envoys said, "Peaceful China" initiative makes China one of the safest countries in the world. As diplomatic officers, we could work, live and travel in China without any anxiety about safety. Thus, we also benefit from the initiative. These achievements honestly reflect that the CPC stays true to the original aspiration of seeking rejuvenation for the Chinese nation and happiness for the Chinese people. To build a "Peaceful China", numerous police personnel have lost their lives for maintaining social stability and protecting the safety of people's lives and properties. More than two million police personnel have made selfless contributions, demonstrating the underlying feature of "people's police". Meanwhile, China has made significant contributions to advancing UN peacekeeping operations, promoting global security governance, and addressing global security challenges. It has effectively maintained the security and stability of mission areas, and embodied its responsibility as a major country. All countries stand ready to further enhance exchanges with China, and strengthen all-round cooperation with China in law enforcement and security, fight against transnational organized crimes, police assistance, and personnel training.
