The Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Holds Exchange Activities with the Law Circle of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR)

On November 26, 2018, Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Xu Hong delivered a keynote report on the current international situation and hotspot issues of international law to civil servants of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government and part of lawyer representatives at the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong SAR Government at invitation. Over 50 delegates from the Department of Justice, Protocol Division Government Secretariat, the Intellectual Property Department, and the Trade and Industry Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government as well as from the Law Society of Hong Kong were present. On November 27, Director-General Xu Hong and representatives of the law circle of the Hong Kong SAR held a symposium on the Belt and Road legal guarantee at the Office of the Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong SAR, conducting in-depth exchanges on how to give play to the advantages of the law circle of the Hong Kong SAR to participate in the work on the Belt and Road legal guarantee. Secretary for Justice Teresa Cheng, Law Officer Paul Tsang (International Law), and relevant officials of the Office of the Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong SAR attended above-mentioned activities.
