From January 23 to 27, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the theme "Appreciating the Snowy Landscape and Embracing the Asian Winter Games", held the inaugural "Tour of Foreign Diplomats to Local Areas of China" event in Heilongjiang. Twenty-two diplomatic envoys, diplomats and representatives of international organizations from 18 countries and international organizations including Lebanon, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland and Slovakia attended the event. Governor of Heilongjiang Province Liang Huiling met with the delegation of diplomatic envoys. Director-General of the Department of Foreign Affairs Management of the Foreign Ministry Chen Li attended relevant activities.

The diplomatic envoys and diplomats conducted on-site inspections of Heilongjiang's ice and snow industry, immersing themselves in the superior resources and unique charm of the Northeast Region's ice and snow culture, tourism, and sports. During the visit, the diplomatic envoys and diplomats also attended the activities of 9th Asian Winter Games and High-Quality Development of the Ice-and-Snow Economy to comprehensively understand the progress in the preparation for the Asian Winter Games and had in-depth exchanges and interactions on practical cooperation with Heilongjiang in the field of ice and snow.

The "Tour of Foreign Diplomats to Local Areas of China" series of events is organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs Management of the Foreign Ministry.
