Xi Jinping Sends Congratulatory Letter to the Third Dialogue on Exchanges and Mutual Learning among Civilizations and the First World Conference of Sinologists

On July 3, 2023, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the Third Dialogue on Exchanges and Mutual Learning among Civilizations and the First World Conference of Sinologists.

Xi Jinping pointed out that in the long process of human history, nations around the world have created civilizations with their own characteristics and identity. Equal-footed exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations will provide a spiritual compass for humans to cut the Gordian knot of the times and achieve common development.

Xi Jinping stressed that China is ready to work with all sides to carry forward the common values of peace, development, equity, justice, democracy and freedom, implement the Global Civilization Initiative, and promote  inter-civilizational exchanges, mutual learning and inclusiveness to overcome cultural misunderstanding, clash and supremacy, so as to jointly advance human civilizations. He expressed the hope that sinologists from various countries, as envoys between Chinese and other civilizations, could make more active efforts to promote cultural exchanges, mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation between China and the rest of the world.

The Third Dialogue on Exchanges and Mutual Learning among Civilizations and the First World Conference of Sinologists, hosted by the Chinese Association for International Understanding, opened in Beijing on July 3, with the theme of “Implement the Global Civilization Initiative and Jointly Promote Modernization”.
