Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Jia Guide Holds a Video Consultation on International Law with Legal Adviser of German Foreign Ministry

On November 17, 2021, Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Jia Guide held a video consultation on international law with the legal adviser of the German Foreign Ministry. Both sides agreed that China and Germany highly align views and positions on maintaining multilateralism, promoting the observance and development of international law, and jointly addressing global challenges such as climate change. Both sides also had a candid and in-depth exchange of views and reached much consensus on issues such as legal issue of recognizing the Afghan government, international maritime law, international law concerning cyberspace, and the latest progress in the work of international legal agencies. Both sides hold that the consultation is helpful to enhance mutual understanding, and add new dimensions to China-Germany comprehensive strategic partnership. The two sides are willing to continue to strengthen relevant communication and exchanges.
