On March 15, 2022, Director-General of the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Yang Tao met with New Zealand Ambassador to China Clare Fearnley. The two sides exchanged views on China-New Zealand relations, celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and the situation in Ukraine.
