On September 27, 2022, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Wu Xi and her Mongolian counterpart co-hosted the 22nd round of China-Mongolia consular consultation via video link.

The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on facilitating personnel exchanges and protecting the safety of their expats and institutions overseas, and agreed to further facilitate essential personnel exchanges and take credible measures to protect the safety and legitimate rights and interests of their citizens and institutions on the premise of  enforcing effective COVID-19 prevention and control measures.

The two sides agreed to effectively implement the important common understanding reached between the leaders of the two countries, continuously enhance the level of consular cooperation, and consolidate public support for bilateral friendship, so as to push China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
