On October 18, 2022, Ambassador Li Lianhe of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry visited Mauritania. He met with Secretary-General Alia Yahya Menkouss of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad of Mauritania, and exchanged views with her on China-Mauritania relations, the building of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, and international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern.
