On February 14, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong met with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to China Chung Jae-ho. The two sides made positive comments on the development of China-ROK relations and had communication on bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the next stage. Sun Weidong made clear China's position on the US shooting down the Chinese unmanned civilian airship, and expressed the hope that the ROK would tell right from wrong, and make an objective, rational and fair judgment. The two sides also exchanged views on cooperation in industrial and supply chains and other issues of mutual interest.
