Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov of Russia Hold China-Russia Consultation on the Middle East Affairs at Vice-foreign Ministerial Level

On December 6, 2018, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov of Russia held China-Russia consultation on the Middle East affairs at vice-foreign ministerial level in Beijing.

Chen Xiaodong expressed that at present, the Middle East is undergoing significant changes. Against this background, China and Russia should enhance communication and coordination, propel the political settlement of hotspot issues, and help regional countries with their reform and construction, so as to make contributions to promoting peace and development in the Middle East.

Mikhail Bogdanov expressed that attaching importance to China's role and influence in the Middle East, the Russian side stands ready to, together with the Chinese side, support and coordinate with each other and utter a unanimous voice of safeguarding multilateralism and the basic norms governing international relations.
