Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng: China-Kazakhstan Relations Are Facing Significant Opportunities

On January 11, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng met with Kazakh Ambassador to China Gabit Koishibayev. Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.

Le Yucheng said that, in face of the COVID-19 last year, China-Kazakhstan relations witnessed new progress under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, with close high-level exchanges, productive anti-pandemic cooperation and increasing cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and connectivity against the trend. China congratulated Kazakhstan on its successful Majilis election. 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the launch of China's 14th Five-Year Plan. It is also the year for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence. China-Kazakhstan relations are facing significant opportunities. China is ready to work with Kazakhstan to enhance cooperation and push forward bilateral relations for the benefit of the two peoples.

Gabit Koishibayev said that Kazakhstan-China relations have withstood the test of the pandemic, and considerable progress has been made in bilateral cooperation in various fields. Kazakhstan is grateful for China's anti-pandemic assistance, and is willing to keep close contact with China through online and offline channels and other ways, implement the consensus of the two heads of state, and promote deeper and more concrete cooperation benefiting the two sides.
