Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang Attends Events on China-CEEC Cooperation in Suzhou

On December 5 to 6, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister and Secretary General of the Secretariat for Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Qin Gang attended a series of events on China-CEEC Cooperation in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. Diplomatic envoys from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Montenegro, Slovakia, North Macedonia, and Serbia, and representatives from the embassies of other central and eastern European countries in China jointly attended the events. During the events, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang held a collective meeting with the diplomatic envoys. They jointly visited an exhibition on Kunshan's achievements of reform and opening up themed "Path of Kunshan Advancing with the Times" and exhibitions of 2020 China-CEEC published works and agricultural cooperation achievements. They also attended the China-CEEC Cooperation New Year Gala and Wujiang (Suzhou)-CEEC Business Conference, and visited local enterprises.

Qin Gang welcomed the diplomatic envoys to visit more Chinese provinces and cities to have a comprehensive understanding of China's development, strengthen local exchanges and seek cooperation opportunities. The diplomatic envoys spoke highly of China's achievements in fighting COVID-19 and the coordinated development of local economy, society and environment in Suzhou. They expressed their willingness to strengthen communication and exchanges and push for more results in practical cooperation between China and CEECs.

During the visit, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang also made a special trip to Jiangsu transfer work base docking with Shanghai for pandemic prevention and control involving foreign nationals, and visited cadres on the pandemic prevention frontline.

Leaders of Jiangsu Province and Suzhou City attended relevant activities.
