On February 17, 2017 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson of the US when attending the G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting in Bonn, Germany.

Wang Yi said that the recent telephone talks between President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump are of great significance. The US side has made it clear that it will continue to adhere to the one-China policy. The two heads of state agreed that China and the US could absolutely become great cooperation partners and should push bilateral relations for greater development from a new starting point.
