Li Keqiang Sends a Message of Condolence to Prime Minister of Sri Lanka

On April 21, 2019, President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolence to President Maithripala Sirisena of Sri Lanka over the series of explosion incidents in Sri Lanka.

Xi Jinping expressed that I was shocked to learn about the series of explosion incidents that caused heavy causalities in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. On behalf of the Chinese government and people and in my own name, I would like to extend profound condolences to the victims and sincere sympathy to the injured and the bereaved families.

Xi Jinping pointed out that the Chinese government and people will firmly stand together with the people of Sri Lanka and firmly support the Sri Lankan government's effort to maintain national security and stability.

On the same day, Premier Li Keqiang also sent a message of condolence to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka in this regard.
