On July 19, 2019, Vice President Wang Qishan met with Foreign Policy Adviser to the President of France Emmanuel Bonne at Zhongnanhai.

Wang Qishan noted, China and France, as permanent members of the Security Council of the United Nations, have their own practices and thoughts on the historical reality and the future. Bilateral relations have a major impact on the region and the world at large. The two sides should take the opportunity of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship to strengthen practical cooperation at all levels, and well implement the important consensus reached by the two Heads of State on China-France relations and the international situation, so as to push China-France comprehensive strategic partnership for greater development. In today's world, opportunities and risks exist alongside each other. The existing international rules need to be constantly improved and perfected, and they cannot be dismantled and rebuilt all over again. The Chinese side is ready to work with the European Union to build the partnership for peace, growth, reform and civilization and continue to contribute to world peace, stability and sustainable development.

Emmanuel Bonne said, France-China relations are of great importance. The French side is ready to work with the Chinese side to deepen practical cooperation at bilateral level and under the framework of the European Union, strengthen communication and coordination on international affairs and jointly safeguard international rules and order on the basis of mutual respect and trust.
