On October 31, 2017, Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang met with outgoing Fijian Ambassador to China Ioane Naivalurua. Zheng Zeguang spoke positively of Ioane Naivalurua’s contributions to boosting the development of bilateral relations during his tenure, and hoped that he could continuously care for and support China-Fiji relations. Ioane Naivalurua appreciated China's strong support for his fulfillment of duties in his term of office, and expressed that he will make unremitting efforts to promote bilateral relations. Both sides also exchanged views on other issues of common concern.
