On May 17, 2023, Ambassador Zhao Weiping paid a courtesy call on Hon. Lukas Sinimbo Muha, Chairperson of the National Council of Namibia. 

Hon. Muha welcomed Amb. Zhao’s assumption of office in Namibia. Speaking highly of China’s valuable support for Namibia’s social and economic development, the Chairperson looks forward to strengthening the exchanges between Chinese and Namibian legislative bodies, so as to consistently achieve more progress in the bilateral ties.

Referring to the profound traditional friendship between China and Namibia, Amb. Zhao said the two countries, as sincere friends and partners with mutually beneficial cooperation, have always been supporting and helping each other. He further pointed out that the Chinese Embassy will actively assist the National Council in its friendly exchanges with China.
