On December 16, 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held Russian friends' "Cloud Visit" to Xizang with Xizang Autonomous Region and the Chinese Embassy in Russia. Deputy Secretary of the CPC Xizang Autonomous Regional Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Xizang Autonomous Regional People's Congress Losang Jamcan and Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng jointly attended and addressed the activity in Beijing. Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui and Chairman of Russia's State Duma Committee on Ownership, Land and Property Relations Sergey Gavrilov as well as Russian officials, experts from the Russian Academy of Sciences, Xizangologists, journalists, and others attended the activity in Russia. Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Xizang Autonomous Regional Committee Wang Haizhou and responsible officials from relevant departments of Xizang attended the activity in Lasa.

Losang Jamcan gave a comprehensive review of the development in Xizang, emphasizing Xizang has been an integral part of the Chinese territory since ancient times, and the Zang ethnic group is an important member of the big family of the Chinese nation. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, General Secretary Xi Jinping has set the direction and made overall plans for the work in Xizang. He held the two Central Working Conferences on Xizang, proposed the guidelines for governing Xizang in the new era, and promoted Xizang's all-round progress and historic achievements. This July, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Xizang, and visited the officials and people of all ethnic groups. The successful practice and splendid achievements over the past 70 years since Xizang's peaceful liberation fully demonstrate the wise and great leadership of the CPC, the superiority of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics, the strong vitality of the system of regional ethnic autonomy, and the mighty force of the CPC guidelines for governing Xizang. Xie Feng said, the year 2021 marks the centenary of the CPC and the 70th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Xizang. President Xi Jinping made an inspection tour in Xizang. He made it clear that we must fully implement the CPC guidelines for governing Xizang in the new era, and write a new chapter featuring long-term stability and high-quality development in this region of snow-capped mountains and plateau. This October, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the event of presenting Xizang to the world, showcasing the all-round historic achievements Xizang has scored in the past seven decades. Over the past 70 years, Xizang has created the miracle of a "thousand-year leap" under the leadership of the CPC, and it is marching toward building a new modern socialist Xizang that is united, prosperous, culturally advanced, harmonious and beautiful. In Xizang's brighter future, the people of Xizang will enjoy happier lives, and Xizang will be more closely connected with the world. China and Russia are good neighbors linked by mountains and rivers, good friends assisting each other, and good partners working together with sincerity. The personal care and common guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin have constantly added new dimensions to the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era. At present, the China-Russia relationship is at its best in history. Zhang Hanhui said, with the personal attention and strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin, China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era has maintained a strong momentum of growth, and is at its best in history. Over a long time, Russia has supported China's position in Xizang and other issues that bear on China's sovereignty and other core interests. Xizang and Russia have continuously deepened exchanges and cooperation in various fields. After the pandemic is brought to an end, the Chinese Embassy in Russia is willing to organize Russian friends to visit Xizang, and see the fascinating and promising land of snow-capped mountains and plateau as well as its development miracle.

Gavrilov said, Russia-China relations based on mutual respect, support and friendship are a model of state-to-state coordination. Russia is delighted to see China's fast economic development, and unity of all its ethnic groups. Under the leadership of the CPC, China has scored historic development achievements. At present, both Russia and China are still facing a raft of severe challenges. Certain countries attempt to denigrate and smear the Russia-China relationship, and label Russia and China as "non-democratic", trying to interfere in the internal affairs of the two countries with this excuse. Russia and China should continue to strengthen cooperation, jointly maintain national stability, promote economic development and oppose external interference. Russia is willing to enhance experience exchange with Xizang in developing the economy and maintaining sound ethnic and religious relations. Russia hopes Xizang will continue to maintain rapid development and make greater achievements.

The Russian friends watched a Xizang-themed video, visited the Potala Palace and the Barkhor Street in the old area of Lasa online, and interacted with responsible officials of relevant departments of the Xizang Autonomous Region on infrastructure construction, Zang culture and history research, tourism development in Xizang, and inheritance and development of the Zang language. Both sides held positive and enthusiastic interactions amid a friendly atmosphere.
