Han Zheng Meets with Leaders of ASEAN Countries Attending 22nd China-ASEAN Expo

On September 16, 2025, Vice President Han Zheng met with Prime Minister of Myanmar U Nyo Saw, Vice President of Laos Bounthong Chitmany, Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in Charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers Vongsey Vissoth, and Deputy Prime Minister of Viet Nam Mai Van Chinh, who are in China for the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, in Nanning, Guangxi.

When meeting with U Nyo Saw, Han Zheng said that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar. Not long ago, President Xi Jinping held a fruitful meeting with Acting President Min Aung Hlaing, during which they reached important common understandings, charting the course for the development of bilateral relations. China is ready to work with Myanmar to implement these important common understandings and deepen the building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future. China supports Myanmar in maintaining national stability, sovereignty and independence, and steadily advancing its domestic political agenda. Han Zheng expressed the hope that the Myanmar side will intensify efforts to crack down on cross-border crimes and ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, institutions, and projects in Myanmar, as well as the security of the China-Myanmar border.

U Nyo Saw said that the Myanmar side thanked China for its timely and valuable assistance to the earthquake-stricken areas in Myanmar. Myanmar supports the Global Governance Initiative proposed by China and abides by the one-China principle. Myanmar is willing to work with China to deepen high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, jointly combat cross-border crimes, and advance the building of a Myanmar-China community with a shared future.

When meeting with Bounthong Chitmany, Han Zheng said that under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, the building of a China-Laos community with a shared future has been steadily advancing. Not long ago, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping held a cordial meeting with General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, charting a blueprint for deepening China-Laos comprehensive strategic cooperation in the new era. China is ready to work with Laos to implement the important common understandings reached at the high level, deepen the building of a China-Laos community with a shared future, and successfully hold the celebration activities for the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year, so as to make the traditional friendship between the two countries more deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

Bounthong Chitmany said that the relations between the two parties and the two countries are at their best in history. Laos abides by the one-China principle, supports China's major initiatives and proposals, and is willing to maintain close high-level exchanges with China, deepen political mutual trust, strengthen pragmatic cooperation, and promote greater development of relations between the two parties and the two countries.

When meeting with Vongsey Vissoth, Han Zheng said that in April this year, President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Cambodia, leading China-Cambodia relations to the forefront of building a community with a shared future for mankind. The two countries maintain close high-level exchanges, pointing the way forward for building an all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era. China is ready to work with Cambodia to accelerate the implementation of the important common understandings reached by the leaders of both countries, leverage the role of the China-Cambodia Intergovernmental Coordination Committee, continuously enrich the "Diamond Hexagon" cooperation framework, expedite the development of the "Industrial Development Corridor" and the "Fish and Rice Corridor", and contribute to the modernization of both countries.

Vongsey Vissoth said that the ironclad friendship between Cambodia and China is unbreakable, and the two countries' destinies are closely intertwined. Cambodia regards China as its most reliable friend and is willing to deepen cooperation with China in various fields to continuously inject new impetus into the building of a Cambodia-China community with a shared future.

When meeting with Mai Van Chinh, Han Zheng said that the two parties and the two countries maintain frequent high-level exchanges and have reached important common understandings on advancing comprehensive strategic cooperation, pointing the way forward for the building of a China-Viet Nam community with a shared future under the new circumstances. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and is also the China-Viet Nam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. China is ready to work with Viet Nam to take the strategic consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and the two countries as a guide, carry forward the traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, accelerate the building of a China-Viet Nam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance, and inject strong impetus into the socialist modernization of both sides.

Mai Van Chinh said that developing friendly relations with China is an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority of Viet Nam's foreign policy. Viet Nam is willing to work with China to enhance high-level exchanges between the two parties and the two countries, deepen cooperation in various fields, and jointly promote the building of a Viet Nam-China community with a shared future.
