On June 8, 2009, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Hui and German Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Reinhard Silberberg co-chaired the third round of China-Germany strategic dialogue.

The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on promoting ties amid the global financial crisis and other international and regional issues of common concern. Both sides agreed to continue playing the strategic, forward-looking and early-warning function of the strategic dialogue mechanism and promote sound, and smooth development of bilateral ties.

Following the dialogue, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Guangya met with Silberberg and his delegation.

Vice Foreign Ministers Wang Guangya and Li Hui also had separate meetings with 10 German young diplomats visiting China on the sidelines of the strategic dialogue.
