On September 9, 2019, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President sent a congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on the 71st founding anniversary of the DPRK.

In his congratulatory message, Xi Jinping said, on the 71st founding anniversary of the DPRK, I would like to, on behalf of the CPC, the Chinese government and people, extend warm congratulations and sincere wishes to Comrade Chairman, and through you, to the WPK, and the DPRK government and people.

Xi Jinping said, for the past 71 years since the founding of the DPRK, the DPRK people have been pushing forward the cause of socialist revolution and construction under the leadership of the WPK. It is believed that the socialist cause of the DPRK will surely make great new achievements under the leadership of the WPK led by Comrade Chairman.

Xi Jinping stressed, I am willing to work with Comrade Chairman to inherit and carry forward the China-DPRK traditional friendship and drive the China-DPRK friendly and cooperative relations for greater achievements in a new historical period so as to better benefit the two countries and the two peoples. I sincerely wish the DPRK prosperity and its people happiness and good health.
