Top Leader Kim Jong Un of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Sends a Signed Letter to Xi Jinping to Express Sympathies

On February 1, 2020, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) Kim Jong Un sent his signed letter to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Xi Jinping, extending sincere sympathies over China’s control over the pneumonia outbreak caused by the novel coronavirus on behalf of the WPK and the people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), and offering help.

In his letter, Kim Jong Un said, the WPK, the DPRK people and I take the epidemic in China as our own business, and firmly believe that under General Secretary Xi Jinping’s wise leadership, the CPC and the Chinese government and people will eventually win the battle against the epidemic. I wish to take this opportunity to send my regards to all CPC members and medical staff working on the front lines in the fight against the outbreak, express sincere condolences to the bereaved families, and offer support to the Chinese side. Please take care of yourself, distinguished General Secretary Xi Jinping. I wish the Chinese people peace and happiness.

Xi Jinping sincerely appreciated the condolences and support offered by Chairman Kim Jong Un, the WPK and the DPRK people.
