On September 6, 2021, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong met with Minister of the Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in China Jong Hyon U at the latter's request. The two sides conducted friendly exchanges on bilateral relations and matters of common concern.
