Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Korean Peninsula Affairs Liu Xiaoming had a telephone conversation with U.S. Special Representative for the DPRK Sung Kim.

Liu shared China's evaluation of the latest developments on the Korean Peninsula, and stressed the need for the U.S. side to give due attention to the legitimate and reasonable concerns of the DPRK. He urged the U.S. side to take concrete action to create conditions for the resumption of dialogue, and do more for peace and stability on the Peninsula.

Sung Kim affirmed U.S. commitment to a diplomatic resolution of the Peninsula issues, and expressed the hope for the early resumption of dialogue and contact with the DPRK.

They agreed to keep in contact.
