On December 15, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong held consultations with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Pak Myong Ho in Beijing. The two sides agreed to take the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the DPRK next year as an opportunity to deepen the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and strengthen strategic communication and coordination. The two sides also had an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest and concern.
