On May 30, 2012, Vice Foreign Minister Xie Hangsheng and East Timor's Foreign Minister Costa attended a reception on the 10th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries and the 10th anniversary of the restoration of East Timor's independence. The two delivered speeches respectively.
