Li Yuanchao Meets with Prime Minister Rui Maria de Araújo of East Timor

On January 21, 2016 local time, Vice President Li Yuanchao met with Prime Minister Rui Maria de Araújo of East Timor when attending the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2016 in Davos, Switzerland.

Li Yuanchao firstly conveyed warm regards and best wishes from Premier Li Keqiang. Li Yuanchao expressed that featuring equal treatment, mutual benefits and win-win results, the China-East Timor relations serve as an example for the relations between big and small countries . China is willing to, together with East Timor, constantly enhance high-level exchanges, strengthen the strategic docking between the construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the medium and long-term development plan of East Timor, enhance cooperation in areas including infrastructure, agriculture, fishery, energy, finance and law enforcement security and expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges so as to build a bilateral comprehensive cooperative partnership with higher level of mutual trust and closer mutually beneficial cooperation in the new era.

Rui Maria de Araújo asked Li Yuanchao to convey his best wishes to Premier Li Keqiang, and noted that East Timor attaches great importance to developing its relations with China, and appreciates China's long-term support and assistance to its development. East Timor is willing to further deepen cooperation with China in various fields so as to bring benefits to both peoples.
