Wang Yi congratulated Foreign Minister Adaljiza Albertina Xavier Reis Magno on her assumption of new post and said, since the outbreak of COVID-19, the two countries have helped and supported each other. The government, parliament and people from all walks of life of Timor-Leste have actively supported China in the fight against the epidemic. China is also the first country to extend a helping hand to Timor-Leste and arrange charter flights to offer assistance. We are happy to see that Timor-Leste has effectively brought the epidemic under control through comprehensive measures and policies in line with its national conditions. The Chinese side is ready to continue to provide assistance in such areas as materials and vaccines according to Timor-Leste's needs and support Timor-Leste in improving its public health capacity.

Wang Yi noted, the Chinese side is ready to inject new impetus into the post-epidemic recovery of Timor-Leste through the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and hopes the two sides can establish a "fast lane" for personnel exchanges as soon as possible to ensure the smooth progress of major cooperation projects and facilitate the resumption of work and production. It is believed that Timor-Leste will continue to adhere to the One China principle and consolidate the political foundation of bilateral relations.

Wang Yi stressed, this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations (UN). The Chinese side is ready to join hands with the international community, including Timor-Leste, to defend the authority of the UN, support its central role in international affairs, uphold multilateralism, safeguard the basic norms governing international relations, and build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Adaljiza Albertina Xavier Reis Magno congratulated on the 71st anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and thanked the Chinese side for the strong support and assistance to Timor-Leste's fight against the epidemic as well as its economic and social development. Timor-Leste is ready to work with the Chinese side to promote cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and promote post-epidemic economic recovery. Timor-Leste is willing to establish a "fast lane" for personnel exchanges with the Chinese side to facilitate the return of Chinese technicians to Timor-Leste. Timor-Leste firmly adheres to the One China principle, which is also the consensus of all political parties in Timor-Leste.

Adaljiza Albertina Xavier Reis Magno said, the world is at a critical moment in the fight against the epidemic. Timor-Leste firmly supports the principle of multilateralism and believes that multilateralism is effective. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the UN, all countries should strengthen solidarity and cooperation under the multilateral framework until the epidemic is completely defeated.
