On February 9, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui met with Nepali Ambassador to China Mahendra Bahadur Pandey.

Luo Zhaohui said that in the new year, China and Nepal need to focus on the implementation of the outcomes achieved during President Xi Jinping's visit to Nepal, enhance political communication, deepen anti-pandemic cooperation, promote practical cooperation in various fields, strengthen coordination and cooperation on multilateral occasions, and facilitate stability and prosperity of the region. As a friendly neighbor, China has always respected the development path chosen by the Nepali people based on their national condition, and sincerely hoped for continuous economic and social development of Nepal and happiness and good health of its people.

Mahendra Bahadur Pandey congratulated the Communist Party of China on its 100th anniversary and wished the Chinese people a happy Lunar New Year. He thanked China for providing vaccines and anti-pandemic materials to Nepal, and said his country is ready to join hands with China to implement the important consensus reached by the heads of both countries and elevate bilateral relations to a new level.

The two sides also exchanged in-depth views on other issues of common concern.
