On February 8, 2024, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong met with Ambassador of Nepal to China Bishnu Pukar Shrestha.

Bishnu Pukar Shrestha first extended his wishes in Chinese, saying, "Happy Spring Festival and best wishes for the Year of the Dragon". Bishnu Pukar Shrestha stressed that Nepal firmly pursues the one-China policy and does not allow any forces to use its territory to engage in anti-China activities. Nepal thanks China for providing valuable support for Nepal's economic and social development and is ready to continue to strengthen cooperation with China in such fields as economy, trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges to enhance connectivity and make more contributions to deepening China-Nepal traditional friendship.

Liu extended New Year greetings to Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, saying that China is willing to work with Nepal to follow through on the important common understandings reached between the leaders of the two countries, continue to support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests, deepen practical cooperation, promote connectivity, and push for greater development of China-Nepal relations in the New Year.
