Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong Meets with Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit

On April 18, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong met with Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit.

Nong Rong said that President Xi Jinping attended the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Thailand and paid a successful visit to the country last November, and the two sides agreed to build a China-Thailand community with a shared future for enhanced stability, prosperity and sustainability, opening up a new era of China-Thailand relations. China is ready to work jointly with Thailand to follow through on the important common understandings reached between the leaders of the two countries, constantly deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields at the bilateral level and within the China-ASEAN  cooperation mechanism, strengthen coordination and cooperation between the two sides on multilateral affairs, and add new dimensions to the "family-like ties between China and Thailand" in the new era.

Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit thanked China for actively supporting Thailand in hosting the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting last year, and noted that President Xi Jinping's visit to Thailand yielded a host of important outcomes, and Thailand is ready to work with China to fully implement the important common understandings reached between the leaders of the two countries, advance practical cooperation in various fields, strengthen personnel exchanges between the two sides, welcome in particular more Chinese tourists to Thailand, deepen bilateral communication and coordination on multilateral affairs, and strive for new and greater progress of Thailand-China friendly relations.
