On June 13, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong met with Chairwoman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Senate of the Parliament of Thailand Pikulkeaw Krairiksh.

Nong Rong welcomed Pikulkeaw Krairiksh's visit to China, saying that China is ready to work with Thailand to implement the important outcomes of President Xi Jinping's historic visit to Thailand last November, carry forward the special friendship as close as one family between China and Thailand, give full play to the role of the two legislative bodies, actively share experience in state governance and legislation, and provide a solid legal guarantee for deepening practical cooperation in agriculture, tourism, new energy and connectivity, among others, so as to continuously deepen and substantiate the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future. At the same time, China is ready to strengthen coordination and collaboration between the two sides in Lancang-Mekong Cooperation and China-ASEAN cooperation to contribute to regional peace, stability and prosperity.

Pikulkeaw Krairiksh extended warm congratulations on the success of the 20th CPC National Congress and China's NPC and CPPCC Sessions and expressed confidence that China will achieve the second centenary goal and advance the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. She stressed that Thailand always believes that “Close neighbors are better than distant relatives”, attaches great importance to learning from China’s experience in state governance and developing relations with China, and will firmly pursue the one-China policy, work with China to implement the important common understandings reached between leaders of the two countries, and work for new development of Thailand-China friendly cooperation.
