Li Keqiang Meets with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi

On the morning of February 14, 2023, at the Great Hall of the People, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council met with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi who is in China for a state visit.

Li Keqiang said China and Iran are both ancient civilizations with a long history of friendly exchanges between the peoples. President Xi Jinping would hold talks with him to lay out  comprehensive plans for the development of bilateral relations. China attaches great importance to the development of China-Iran relations, and is ready to work with Iran to elevate China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level on the basis of mutual respect and treating each other as equals, and contribute to world peace and common development to the benefit of the two peoples.

Li Keqiang noted that China is ready to work with Iran to enhance the level of practical cooperation. The two sides need to ensure effective implementation of the China-Iran comprehensive cooperation plan, promote cooperation in economy, trade and other fields, expand product export to each other, promote the implementation of mutually beneficial projects conducive to people's well-being, and increase people-to-people exchanges to consolidate public support for friendship between the two countries.

Raisi said Iran and China enjoy a very friendly relationship with exchanges dating back centuries. Iran is committed to developing relations with China, and is ready to well implement the comprehensive cooperation plan between the two countries on the basis of mutual respect, mutual benefit and win-win results, deepen cooperation in various fields and promote continued development of bilateral relations. Iran is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with China on international affairs to jointly safeguard world peace and stability.
